(42,674 posts)Its a combo of ice under and snow above. Between bridges over waterways and hills, Seattle is never going to be ready

(15,200 posts)Our favorite when I was growing up in Seattle in the winter was Split Pea soup and grilled cheese on sourdough (or tomato soup) with hot cocoa or a hot mint and ginger lemonade mom used to make using kool-aid lemonade powder, finely ground dried mint from the summer garden, and ginger powder, which she'd mix with home-made simple syrup in a pan.
Seattle has never handled a snowfall over 2" ever in my memory - too many hills.
Good luck getting around.

(3,574 posts)Is a taxi a possibility? They might charge less than $90. Or perhaps someone with 4 wheel drive can help out. It's still snowing heavily here in the Orting area, with about 2" on the ground. We are down in the river valley and usually don't see much snow (too warm). It's really a day to stay home with some hot tea and leave the driving to others.
