To DU and our liberal cohorts across the country: Congratulations!
I was afraid that a combination of Omicron's transmissibly and Trump's recent Candace Owens interview would have the effect of more of these nut cases accepting the vaccine which would result in fewer dying and thus thwarting our plan of winning more elections, since these stupid jerks were dying out three times faster than Democrats.
But this appears not too be the case. The Covid death rate is still heavily trending in our favor.
Republicans are still dying from Covid almost three times faster than Democrats which means we can soon turn Florida, Texas and Georgia blue. These idiots are eating out of our hands!
But we can't take anything for granted. We must redouble our efforts to get our close contacts in the Communist Party of China and Russia to plant more disinformation about the virus and vaccine in social media. We must also do everything we can to keep certain news outlets (and we all know who they are) praising the unvaccinated and holding them up as examples of American freedom.
Our final victory is in sight. Don't let up.
(And, of course, don't let Republicans see this post.)

(220 posts)elsewhere: the silver lining in the death rate variance being within the vote rate variance of 3-4% may be the key to a mid-term sweep by Democrats. Many districts that lean to the Rs are at a 1 or 2% difference. But, as they are wiping themselves out, well, we will just have to pick up the pieces and move on. Gee wiz.

Many city people are not Dems. Many people are not even political. When polls are conducted using actual party affiliation, it's way better for Dems than GOP.
We may have already seen some of this electoral shift last year when Biden won Georgia, Arizona, and took back the upper midwest. We might see more of that in the 2022 Senate and House elections. We need to run good candidates in local and state offices to influence public health policy.
