Christmas Done Come and Gone!
Now, we face 2022. Despite the current COVID-19 surge, we really need to start looking ahead to the 2022 primary elections in every district and state, for both local and national offices. We need solid, progressive Democratic candidates running in every race, but they must match the electorate wherever they are.
We're going to face a group of Trumpsters who are running in many races, often replacing or seeking to replace Republican office holders in many areas and districts. We should be able to use that to our advantage in many places, shifting votes to a Democrat in places where a Trumper is running instead of a more traditional Republican.
In every case, though, we should be working to help Democratic candidates win, with an eye on November. Whoever wins the Democratic primary race for every office, though, needs our full-throated support. We can make gains in majorities and establish majorities in our state legislatures as well as in national offices.
We can win this. We must win this.
