Nichole Wallace spent some time on this piece today, so I looked it up. i was interested because I was born there, my family was important there. Why? My grandfather was of the first County Agriculture (Ag) Agents, a New Deal program that brought back farming from the abyss of the Dust Bowl. He was honored and well known.

All that is forgotten now. What's the Matter with Kansas is what, itself, 20 years old now? These people find themselves at the bottom of a large media echo chamber, and resent it, but remain unaware of the 90 yr old Australian billionaire in control of theirs.

They rage in favor of the True American Identity, and celebrate a victory with tacos. (As we do here in California...)

I remember the town as having a large park of great charm. My mom was a 4-H champion and rode her horse to school. My grandparents had a middle son who was a champion debater in high school, lost in the war. He also excelled in the orchestra. Now the home schoolers run things, raising their sons to work at Chick fil A to organize the revolution there.

I expect this revolution of the witless and the hapless to likely fall of its own dead weight, but it's very sad to see, regardless.

Some of them are likely to attack anything or anyone they imagine is the "threat".

And contrary to what they may think, they're a damned minority in this country, and they've NEVER been silent.
