(10,459 posts)through the Christmas season. I would have been thrilled to do a swap with a NY bagel shop for bagels to fill my freezer.
The canned cat food aisle is bare. Fancy Feast and other brands of canned cat food are in very short supply in north Georgia.

(38,902 posts)Strain some yogurt to make Labna. Or curdle up some whole milk for a nice homemade fresh cheese.

(30,498 posts)my son works at a grocery, they've been out. I finally scored 2 tubs on Amazon Fresh and they're safe in my refrigerator right now. Who wants a bagel without cream cheese?
I also have not been able to get a 12 pack of Barq's root beer for ages. Lastly, a great set of baking pans I wanted to get for my children is no longer available on Amazon. So there are shortages and delays, but nothing life threatening as far as I can tell from my little bubble here at home.

(82,849 posts)There was one guy who said that while he liked Cramer, he thought Cramer was better than taking this cheap shot. The very next post was that Cramer is not better than that.

I'll trade you cases of Ramen for some sunshine and warm weather. Just let me know how you want to package the weather and the Ramen is on it's way.

I mean, it shows up at Safeway once in a while, but both supermarkets within walking distance are currently out and even the overpriced ones at 7-11 are scarce. Amazon has it but the price and availability fluctuates wildly. Maruchan seems to be having serious problems for a long time now. Regular ramen, the stuff I used to unwrap and munch "raw" when I was in college, is still plentiful.
All my favorite Japanese snackies are becoming hard to get. I can cope but it's irritating and worrying.

(11,630 posts)There is ramen up in my area. At least there was a couple of weeks ago when I bought some.

(12,743 posts)This was maybe 2 weeks ago? It shocked me but I saw it at a few stores.
The weird individual items are what really strike me - Sierra Mist soda, Eggo waffles, Better Cheddars

(24,728 posts)Unless it's the red can. No cat wants that (mine throws it up). I think it repulses even feral cats

(7,434 posts)"Right" kind of canned cat food. It has to be a certain brand, and a certain palate of flavors or the spoiled little shit won't eat it. Would my father have done that for me? NOOOOO.....

(51,308 posts)The one feral really really liked the gravy Fancy Feast, or so I thought.
Bought a bunch, and now the wee gowk wont eat it! Grr.

MerryBlooms
(11,937 posts)The chub mackerel, tuna and sardines are a really good buy at dollar store and our local grocery store. I made a prime rib for Christmas dinner, so they're eating pretty high-on-the-hog these days. lol They absolutely have been loving the beef fat off the prime... They eat the fat before the meat. The one feral has fire scars on his face from the Almeda fire, so whatever I can do to spoil that sweet boy, I do! I bought him some Rockin Lobster treats for Christmas, and he loves them. He is so sweet. I don't know how long he's been on his own. He has an ear that is broken in half, his tail is broken in at least 3 places, his left eye doesn't work very well, and then the burn marks and no whiskers on that one side of his face. I call him Smokey. He knows his name and likes me to talk to him, and I play, What's My Line, during the late night feeding. We keep a warming bed on the porch for them. I have fallen in love with these guys.
Goldie is the big black panther. He could barely walk when he first came. He was starving. Now he's the king of the block- huge cat! Then there's Smokey Jr, aka, Crybaby. That one is a big gray kitty that knows to meow to get human attention, the other two are silent. Crybaby lives in the woods behind our house, and has a den somewhere away from all the rest. The other two live in our mobile park, under houses.

Actually I love buying candy when it's discounted 50% off. That's my favorite kind of candy.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)discounted after-Chrismas stuff, but no more, most gone BY opening of the stores the day after. Buy what you like before Christmas or wait another year.
Obviously transport was not lacking for the merchandise cleared from these shelves.
