This...is London

?s=20

Some are voicing the hope that the Omicron wave peaked on Dec. 23. Still too early to know for sure. London is the epicenter of the UK omicron wave.

Dr. Wachter is head of the Dept. of Medicine at UCSF. His Twitter feed has good stuff and is followed by other experts.

1. England seems to have plateaued

at high numbers before Omicron so they were already experiencing high Delta numbers before this Omicron spike.

2. 7 day average cases (UK) has gone from 54k on 11 Dec to 131k on 26 Dec, and still climbing

at the same rate, roughly: https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/cases

It does look more like London has plateaued, though they only show cases by specimen date for regions, and it's harder to see trends over the last few days with that.
