General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThis afternoon I had a conversation with one of my neighbors here in the hill country.
She is 101, very soon 102.
We were sitting outside.
She is a WW2 Vet.
She can speak German, Czech, and Polish.
She was in Army Intelligence and was stationed in England then France and Germany.
She is very aware about the similarities between 1930's Germany and now in our country.
She is ready to fight again.
It struck me sitting there listening to her what the Americans could do if needed.
Now we have sorry Americans who can't even take a shot.
There was a element of sadness also.
She lost a brother and a future husband in Europe.
Then she had to see January 6th.

(2,962 posts)I have known her for years.
She will not talk about certain things, government secrets.
She knew all about Nazi Germany.
She was in college almost a senior when Pearl Harbor happened.
Like so many she joined the military and her language skills were needed.
She still is still sharpe and in great shape.
Not many WW2 Vets left.
I ashamed of all these anti-vax types.
She is a hero to me.
She was very much in love with her future husband.
He died in December 1944.
She still loves him, you can tell.

(2,962 posts)Spare me.
I worked in the Democratic party for years.
Held more elections then I care to think about.
I was precinct judge since was 18. I think I was the youngest one. I worked my parents elections when was a kid
Held voting registration drives when I was a union member. I gave up weekends for that.
Not my fault people didn't vote for Hillary.
Yeah we are moving
I earned that right.

(2,962 posts)Putin did his part but we needed this election to big to steal.
I know people who were to lazy to vote or just didn't like Hillary.
I do not understand it all.
We needed a bigger turnout like President Biden had.
2016 was to important to sit out.

She does not look her age.
She looks younger.

(36,298 posts)Given her age, I don't think she's mobile enough to get around so she can kill local Magahats.
I believe that many here who say they are going to fight don't actually have it in them to kill or be an accessory to the killing of others. One isn't going to defeat Nazism with candlelight protests and making negative comments on social media.
