Can the Supreme Court save us from ourselves?

More to the point, will the Supreme Court save us from ourselves?

Nothing will get the attention of those denying reality more than a decision from the Supreme Court. They have the power to give the Americans the facts and the truth about the January 6th Insurrection and why it happened.

All they have to do is to declare that the Congress of the United States, the Representatives of the People, have a right to investigate a criminal act against our government.

The only thing standing between the Court and the truth is politics. The former President of the United States is calling for them to decide for him against the American people, simply because they are Republicans and the other side is trying to prosecute him. If the Congress does not have the facts, then the people will never know.

It seems like a cut and dry case.

But, is it?

But it won't be unanimous. IMHO

Edit suggestion: Add "former" in front of "The President of the United States".

Alito and Thomas will definitely be a yes. I think Barret is the next most likely to take it (70% a yes). After that, I think Kavanaugh is 70% a no, Gorsuch is 80% a no, and the others are a hard no.

I think they pass on it. I just hope it happens soon.

We should stop calling him former president. We should just call him trump (lower case). We know who he is. He does not deserve the title or your extra time spent to honor the dishonorable.

That could be the green light for Merrick Garland to act on his own. The Court would have little to do with his efforts to prosecute, if he decided to do that?

The Legislative and the Executive Branches could move ahead without the assistance of the Judicial Branch, if they so desired. I believe any delay by the Court will create a lot of action from the Committee and from the DOJ. They will move independently from the Court.

Just my opinion.

It's probably even more cut-and-dry than most people realize. Under a dictator, there is no need for them, and they all know it. They'll all be out of a job--and any power they currently hold. I don't see them willingly giving that up just to help Trump.
