Prepare for Right-Wing U.S. Dictatorship Before 2030, Scholar Urges Canada

A Canadian political scientist has urged his country's government to prepare for the possibility of the United States becoming a right-wing dictatorship before 2030.

In an op-ed published in The Globe and Mail on Friday, Thomas Homer-Dixon, an executive director of the Cascade Institute at Royal Roads University in British Columbia, warned his country had to prepare for the worst-case scenario.

"By 2025, American democracy could collapse, causing extreme domestic political instability, including widespread civil violence," Homer-Dixon wrote.

fascism and ending democracy so they can have white supremacy, its over.

And it will be very deadly.

If the DOJ isnt right now preparing indictments from trump and the others, bye bye.

Joe Manchin will go down with Sinema as the lynchpins of destroying America. Well, them and ALL cons since they ALL are preventing voting.

They are not only going to try to steal as many seats next year as they can, but they plan to completely STEAL the 2024 election.

This is why they are so terrified of Marc Elias, because his team is fighting against this.

well in 2024, and do so via various nefarious means (especially POTUS) that hold up, then you can put a fork in the US as we know it. Especially if the POTUS is somehow the old bloated crazed Trump and there are no voter rights/protection bills passed in 2022. Also, if Breyer fails to retire before the 2022 midterms, and we lose the Senate then, there is no chance we will fill that seat (if he does retire or dies in 2023 and beyond) before 2025, and that 2025 date requires us to both win back the Senate and hold the POTUS in the 2024 elections. A Rethug-controlled Senate will likely never again approve a Dem POTUS-nominated SCOTUS potential Justice, unless it is a RWer they sign off on.

T***p got the GOP into a place where they aren’t even considering putting forth plans to move America forward. They have given up on any semblance of governing. The Republicans in charge are bowing to a fascist faction of the population that are driven by delusions of living in an ethnic-cleansed State.

They, of course, are playing with fire. But, many Americans it seems are bored with democracy and are fascist-curious. They may have strong religious feelings that God will not let their world crumble. They are wrong. Eventually, if there isn’t a reckoning of justice and equality there will be a point in which Democracy loving and heretofore peaceful Americans will fight back.

I’m not saying we have nothing to worry about..far from it.

What worries me even more is a once mainstream magazine turned right wing mouth piece publishing articles to purposely scare and incite.

They make it sound like we the dems are just going to sIt around and let it happen. They want us to believe we are sheep with no options and no power. That is simply not the case

Canadians follow US politics closely. The last several years I get calls from some of them and it’s obvious they’re looking for reassurance from me, I can’t give them any.

I started telling them a few years ago that they should prepare for a fascist regime in the US who’re hell bent on expanding our borders and will use our military to do so.

I hate being so negative, but I don’t see our democracy surviving the decade.

If our breadbasket states face failing crop harvests, while Canada still has good wheat harvests, hunger can change a lot of minds really fast.

And Canada's military wouldn't last long without international help.

A sizable chunk of it is multiethnic and would not follow a RW white supremacist faction.

The three generals who did the op’ed the other day show the rift in the military.

I met him while he was their ambassador to the USA, so he knows the USA well. He retired when his uncle stepped down as PM. He was horrified at the fact that Trump was allowed to occupy the White House at all, and even more so at what Trump did once he got there.

He served under democracies and dictatorships. He knows the difference.

Have been watching Netflix movies, "Maid in Manhattan": the politician character asks the son of the maid if he's Republican or Democrat, he says, "What's the difference?"

"Don't Look Up," we are shown that the obviously Trump-like president has photos of her hugging Bill Clinton and other Democrats. Both sides!

And all that bullshit that Democrats are corrupt because they receive campaign contributions and are somehow beholden to everything that particular contributor wants. Thanks, idiots!

Way to go, idiot Americans!
