Edited update: Eldest Trump children won't comply with subpoenas from New York attorney general

Former President Trump’s eldest son and daughter have refused to comply with subpoenas issued by the New York State attorney general’s office as it conducts a civil investigation into the way the family real estate business valued its holdings.

“A dispute has arisen between the OAG and the Individual Trump Parties regarding the Subpoenas,” a document filed Monday said.

The document, filed jointly by New York Attorney General Letitia James and an attorney for the Trump Organization, said Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump will now be named as respondents in James’ ongoing inquiry, which parallels a criminal investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump will file motions to quash the subpoenas as soon as Monday, the filing indicated.

but then who proves that he is lying?

You then need willing testimony proving he is lying.

NOTHING is the same anymore, anything we thought we could rely on, we cant.

he operated his entire life as a mob boss. He would get Ivanka or Jr. to put their names on money laundering projects to keep himself at arm's length away. Yes he would throw his own children under the bus.

The thing about taking the 5th in a civil case, it can be used against Trump.

Would be nice to see Weisselberg flip on Trump because Trump will just throw him under the bus.

Happy New Year MF45.

and not being an attorney, I'm probably not understanding this correctly.

I would have thought that if Jr. and Ivanka are listed as Trump Org. corporate officers, wouldn't they be included as potential targets of the investigation?

Wouldn't subpoenaing them to testify at the grand jury subject them to having to plead 5th Amendment Rights?

What purpose does that serve?

case settlement and that testimony was used against him in the criminal case.

Still, he agreed to the settlement and paid $$$ to his accuser.

I figure the three of them, + Eric the Dumb will lose money.
