As I was driving home yesterday, I noticed a large billboard on one of the main roads in my small area of Tennessee.
Wish I could have snapped a picture to post, but I didn't have my camera.
It said in big bold red letters:
OBAMA OR AMERICA
YOU CAN'T HAVE BOTH

(14,400 posts)I'd buy the space right next to the one you saw. It would have a finger pointing at it with the text. This guy is an idiot!

(6,160 posts)idea what they are talking about. Their opinions are based on ignorance, racism, guns, or abortion. Probably a combination of all of those.

(6,286 posts)I know exactly the one you're talking about and where it is. He showed me a picture of it on his cell phone. We both had a good laugh. I'm more liberal than him, but he's fairly reasonable.

FF to 1:06, unless you want to see Tea Partiers playing banjos. (No, that is not a joke)

(6,160 posts)The one I saw is in Middle Tennessee. It has the same message, but no flags. It is just the written message.

(6,286 posts)What a waste of money. Has anyone ever been swayed by a billboard?
(On a side note, I drove to St. Louis a few weeks ago and was dumbfounded by the sheer numbers of anti-abortion billboards that littered the highway. I know I saw close to a dozen as I got near the city. I guess they think repetition will make their argument more palatable.)

(6,160 posts)I can't imagine spending money on something like that, but apparently there are some fairly well off people around that are filled with hatred.
It is quite sad.
I am being very careful about what I say publicly. In a heavily red state you never know what someone might do.
