Doesn't it feel like we've waited over 5 years for this moment?

Through one stolen election, two impeachments, a 2-year special counsel investigation, another attempted stolen election, little media support, crazy voices overspeaking the sane and just...

...I will admit that after Mueller, I felt like the inertia would never turn back around, and like so many here on DU, I was afraid, very afraid, for the future of our nation.

After yesterday and today, I no longer feel so hopeless. We've got this. Our leaders have looked us square in the eye and told us that they ain't messing around. We may not get the results we want - Trump may never get frog-marched to a holding cell - but I think the TRUTH is about to be told over and over again, and the propagandists' message will be drowned out.

For now.

I did listen to the speech but can’t remember. It was so emotional I don’t want to listen again.

Joe Biden punched that orange cretin in the face, knee-capped him, and walked away victorious...this was Joe's "Will you shut up, man" moment...Trump fatigue writ large..we've had enough...5 years of lies, revenge, hate, apathetic disregard for human suffering, his vapid reptilian family, using the office to enrich his bottomline, humiliating us on the world stage, diminishing our stature among our allies, cozying up to autocrats and oligarchs, incompetent ass-kissing sycophants...five years of Trump...ENOUGH!

But there is still a lot of work to do to fight the far Right’s pathological delusions and stop the GOP’s destruction of the electoral system.

(Not to mention seeing a number of individuals indicted, arrested, tried, and convicted for sedition and inciting terror.)
