Couple dies within moments of each other from COVID-19, holding hands

https://www.wbaltv.com/article/salem-nh-couple-dies-within-moments-of-each-other-from-covid-19-holding-hands/38672090?fbclid=IwAR0u1gcKMXaNBNiPZxeXVZ-IiGP121m7UGqS9EFzvh92L67nPbk96XhTsOQ#

William and Carol Stewart of Salem, New Hampshire, died within seconds of each other from COVID-19, holding hands as they took their last breaths.

Daughter Melissa Noke said their entire family of eight tested positive for COVID-19. Carol was on life support for two weeks, William for eight days. William suffered from lung, kidney and renal failure towards the end of his life.

While this is heartbreaking that they died together, neither of them had to die. All they had to do was get vaccinated.

There are more stories like this one. You would think people would be scared to death and haul ass to get vaccinated. They are just fucking stupid. No more complicated than that.

Maybe it's part of the Qanon schtick to make them believe that these death stories are fake news.

When the truth is ugly.

They didn't have to die. They didn't have to end up like that, on life support, hooked up to various tubing and machines.

No, it is not comforting or touching or a sign of true love or of being soulmates that they "touched hands" and then died seconds apart.

It's tragic and senseless death.

...didn't go so far as to get vaxxed to protect each other.
The story's framing is treacle on top of a pile of sugar.
Ridiculous.

doesn't get a lot more personal than this. Something for anyone to keep in mind as these keep being posted. No one has to invade people's last minutes.

Otherwise there wouldn't be a news article that names the couple and their daughter.

I would guess that the daughter wanted to publicize the possible consequences of not vaccinating.

We had a similar case here after an unvaxxed 18 year old died.

I respect the daughter and feel bad for her, but I've got no fucks for the parents.

Like us. It’s always our choice to be kind, mean, decent, indecent. Social media rabble who can’t be told from counterparts on other forums or just worried people discussing their world and incomprehensible tragedies and other people. There’s a difference. Decency doesn't preclude even bitter condemnation, but it does preclude the ugly hostility that's become as characteristic of some on the left as on the right.

My message wasn’t thinking of yours alone, btw, it just happened to be the latest on this one thread. Definitely unfair, since your suggestion that you might once have cared imo makes it among the more decent in the crowd pushed in around their deathbeds.
