In the u.s. it's just 36 thousand, which of course is the more relevant statistic when considering u.s. policy and law....

7. Gorsuch once ruled a trucker should die with his trailer

Stuck in a snow storm for hours, freezing, low on fuel, brakes on his trailer frozen, a trucker couldn't wait any longer for his employer to send relief, so he left his trailer and drove the tractor to shelter to save himself from freezing to death. He got fired. Gorsuch, then an appellate court judge, was the only judge on a three-judge panel who ruled in favor of the employer. Gorsuch is a very cruel man.

on infectious diseases before blasting out misinformation on such things.

Many of us once thought SCOTUS justices had brilliant legal minds or the wouldn't be there. No longer. We've got some real losers on the court.

... that people will stop focusing only on death rate.

Despite the fact that we've lost a lot of people to COVID (835,000+), the survival rate of the disease is very high. HOWEVER, the long-term or permanent organ damage to those who survive will likely raise havoc will survivor's health, ability to work, U.S. health care systems AND the United States economy.

Oh, and I just looked up how many people die from flu in the U.S.... In the last two years, CDC figures are between 12,000 and 52,000. That's definitely a far cry from "hundreds of thousands"
