I have enjoyed watching Amy. She is amazing

.
She now holds the record for most consecutive games won by a female player (surpassing Julia Collinss 20-game win streak in 2014) and the most money ever won by a female contestant (surpassing Larissa Kellys $655,930 in prize money). She currently ranks fourth overall in Jeopardy! history for consecutive games won and highest winnings in regular-season play.
Its unfortunate that some people have fixated on Ms. Schneiders appearance rather than her amazing achievements. There should not be any controversy about Ms. Schneider being called the most winning woman ever on Jeopardy!" She identifies as a woman and has been referred to with female pronouns for her entire run on the show.....
Its time for America to move beyond prejudices about trans people. Ms. Schneider didnt ask to become a trans icon. She wants to be judged for her talents, just like everyone else.

(25,865 posts)In my personal life, I know one trans woman, not well, and I'm somewhat fascinated by her. I know zero about her life before now. Not that her earlier life is any of my business, especially as I don't know her very well.
I will say that there is an aspect of being trans that I don't get. By which I mean, I was born with a female body, and have been content to be female, and heterosexual, my entire life. I know, weird. Oh, and while I'm capable of complaining a lot about male privilege, I have never wanted to be male. Nope. Being female has worked for me. Which means, I don't quite understand on a personal level what it would be like to feel you were born in the wrong body. That would be awful, and I'm grateful I have not experienced that.
But I do want to say that just because being trans is not part of my experience, that does not mean I think that's not a valid thing. I'm just acknowledging my limited experience and understanding.

(14,977 posts)The people who didn't respect trans people before she was on Jeopardy sure as fuck are not going to have their minds changed by someone winning a bunch of trivia gameshow episodes in a row. The people who did respect trans people beforehand never needed a fucking game show outcome to goose them into behaving like a civilized moral person.
What world are these idiot editors living in??? FFS, have they ever actually talk to bigot about their bigotry? Do they think bigots suddenly drop their bigotry after witnessing feats of strength, literal or metaphorical? Really? GTFOH.
Well said

Schneider added $42,200 to her overall winnings on Friday -- her 28th episode -- bringing her running total to $1,019,001. She joins Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer and Matt Amodio as just the fourth person in "Jeopardy!" history to win more than $1 million in non-tournament play.......
Schneider wore a transgender flag pin during the Thanksgiving episode in solidarity with transgender people who may be ostracized from their families. Later, she wrote about her decision to wear the pin on Twitter.
