(57,622 posts)The troll claimed Saget died from the vaccine, based on absolutely no evidence, of course.

(1,617 posts)Not saying the vaccine was the cause (the guy was 65) but legally speaking a VAERS report should be filed for all incidents post-vaccination.
https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/ensuringsafety/monitoring/vaers/reportingaes.html#anchor_1617058905636
"The reporting requirements for COVID-19 vaccines are the same for those authorized under emergency use or fully approved. Healthcare providers who administer COVID-19 vaccines are required by law to report the following to VAERS:
* Vaccine administration errors, whether or not associated with an adverse event (AE)
...
* Serious AEs regardless of whether the reporter thinks the vaccine caused the AE. Serious AEs per FDA are defined as:
** Death
...
"
Given that he got boosted a short while ago. A VAERS report should be filed so CDC can make the final confirmation it was not vaccine related.
This is part of what makes VAERS data trash, but it goes to show you how safe the vaccines are too that so few incidents have been collected even with such stringent reporting requirements. Mr. Saget's death could literally have zero to do with the vaccine, but yet legally a VAERS report should be filed!

(28,090 posts)His version of The Aristocrats was by far the most obscene. Those in the know will know the reference.

(195,571 posts)I really didnt care for that documentary. I get the point of the joke is to just be obscene but it is a little much for me.
As I posted elsewhere- the first time I saw his stand up (after he was on 2 hit TV shows at the same time) I was amazed. Not just that he was funny but that THIS GUY was the wholesome Dad on one show and the host of the monster AFV TV show. I think I saw a clip of his fellow comedians reacting to him getting those shows...HIM? thy said knowing his work.
Funny guy. RIP.

(9,423 posts)the possibility for fame. More TV, more films, more radio and podcasts makes more and more celebrities every year. There were more avenues for fame in the 1960s than the 1950s. Then even more in the 1970s, then more in the 1980s, and so on.
When the internet boomed in the 1990s, so did possibilities for celebrity creation. In 20 years' time, it will feel like a celebrity is dying almost every day.

(16,089 posts)He was one of the funniest comedians I'd ever seen. One night we sat together after his set at the empty bar of the comedy club where he was performing. We had a couple of beers and had a nice chat. He was engaged to be married and was pretty excited about it.
He was a really nice guy. I am stunned that he has died.
RIP Bob.
