Lettuce recall 2022: Dole recalls salad sold at Walmart, Kroger, Aldi, H-E-B for listeria risk

Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. is voluntarily recalling dozens of types of prepackaged salad for a “possible health risk” from listeria from dozens of states.

According to the Jan. 7 recall notice posted on the Food and Drug Administration's website, the affected products are Dole-branded and private label packaged salads processed at its Springfield, Ohio and Soledad, California production facilities.

Consumers are advised to throw out the recalled items and not to eat them. Affected store brands include Walmart’s Marketside brand, Aldi’s Little Salad Bar, Kroger, H-E-B and Presidents Choice.

1. Damn. I love eating those pre-packaged salads for lunch, but they seem to get recalled a lot.

I'll probably give them up.

These companies are killing their own business by not having better safety and quality control protocols.

3. I live on those things

Great, just great. It's like things are just falling apart. Big to small. Even salad.

4. I like the convenience of prepackaged veggies,

but I only ever buy things that can stand up to nuking—kale, cabbage, broccoli slaw, shredded carrots, etc. 3 to 5 minutes in the microwave and then I make a salad after it’s cooled.

5. Bought packaged salad from Kroeger (Fred Meyer) recently but it's not the Dole brand
