there are notable exceptions), they know they're spouting b.s. yet they continue to play to the most ignorant among us while laughing at them behind their backs. For what? To please the former guy? For power? For votes from the basest of TFG's base?

In my book, the "notable exceptions" are the rule.

They're profoundly stupid, and some of them will pay for their perfidy.

As my dad always said, and I have watched and believed, because my brothers, both of them, have the same kind of education and know some of these people..."Having an Ivy league education does not mean you are educated...or smart. It means you went to an Ivy League school. So did an awful lot of idiots."

Little Big Wheels (Cawthorn)
Louie the Gomer (as mentioned by someone else)
Andy Biggs
Paul Gosar

You do know that Cawthorn flunked out of Patrick Henry College, that place set up specifically for homeschoolers? (He will tell you that he withdrew, but if he did, it was "Withdrew Failing", which is the same thing as flunking out.)

18. It's not about intelligence.

Throughout human history some very intelligent people have done some very stupid things due to emotional and psychological issues.

Cops encounter very clever criminals all the time. Psychologists and psychiatrists deal with exceptionally brilliant patients.

For people who do not have the psych and emotional issues of criminals and racists, their behaviors are stupid. But to people who do have those issues, their behavior seems quite normal and reasonable. You can't reason with them until you cut through and disable the emotional and psychological issues.
