Ron Filipkowski tweet re: Brit Hume is an idiot--

Text

Let’s say I plan to rob a bank with two other people. We buy ski masks, body armor, weapons, disguises, scope out the bank, have a getaway plan and stash house, etc., but the police arrest us on the way to the bank to do it. To Brit that shouldn’t be a crime? Just despicable.

2. One response to this post offers a good analogy:

Or say a kid makes facebook posts about killing everyone in his school, gets a gun and lots of ammo, stuffs it all into his backpack, and gets arrested in homeroom. To Brit, this is overreach.

8. It is only if you take material steps to carry out the plan.

If I sit down with a couple of friends and we concoct a plan to rob a bank but then do nothing at all about it, it's not a crime. But if we case the joint, buy disguises, or do anything else that was part of the plan, that's the crime of conspiracy even if we never actually rob the bank but just get busted on the way to do it.

I regularly laugh at Brit Hume. Seriously...there's video of the insurrectionists doing damage to our Capitol. Brit forgot that apparently.

5. Oh, goody. Can I repost my favorite personal Brit Hume story then? (from decades ago, but)

I was near the Mayflower Hotel on Connecticut Ave in DC years ago, attending a conference and out walking when I saw a homeless woman with a couple of young children holding a sign requesting $$ help-- about a block away. Beyond her-- about a half a block further away--was a man that unbeknownst to me at the time was Brit Hume.

As I walked toward her and approached within a few hundred feet, a $20 bill fluttered across the sidewalk, seemingly from out of nowhere. I slowed down thinking she would get it. But much to my horror, the man sped up and grabbed it, not even looking in her direction. It clearly wasn't his and he literally had to speed in front of her to grab it, quickly walking away after stashing it in his pocket.

I stopped and gave the lady a $5 bill, which was all I had on me, but that story to me is the quintessential Brit Hume.

9. Not to mention he's a wingnut of the highest a-hole degree.

For years he was at ABC, occupying the wingnut seat that Jonathan KARL now holds. His slant towards the Bush Family Evil Empire was obvious, and he sneered his way through all news on Dems. He was fairly much acknowledged to be the BFEE consigliere, invited to family events where few if any other reporters were.

After he went to his true home, the Faux Propaganda Network, hosting the Sunday yak show, he would pistol whip Juan WILLIAMS every week just about depicting a plantation relationship. And Jon KARL inherited the wingnut seat at ABC, where he would ceaselessly insert positive references about the BFEE at every opportunity.

He was the "mentor" for the despicable Megan KELLY, like "mentor"?
