The Red States are rigging things so they can give their Electoral Votes to whomever the Legislatures want. They are suppressing votes and gutting local Election Boards.
This Electoral Vote Law compromise will only make it impossible for Congress to do anything about these States overturning the will of their voters.
It is a Trojan Horse, not a compromise.
And it WILL scuttle any legislation that will address the anti-democracy agenda the GOP is engaged in.
It is far from "better than nothing".

I can't believe that many Dems, including people here, think this is a compromise we should take.

(94 posts)I hope Dems dont fall for it. This change by itself will be a disaster. He IS willing to require Id and such to try to ensure a popular republican win.

(2,868 posts)If they can still suppress your vote, categorize your vote as 'illegitimate', takeover the fraudulent counting of the votes, what good is SOME modification of the Electoral Count Act?
