(12,186 posts)Trff Bmzklfrpz Former President-for-Life of the fictional Republic of Berzerkistan. Ex-President Bmzklfrpz was a typical dictator, and, according to an interview with Mark Slackmeyer, engaged in genocide and is anti-Semitic. In a parody of former Turkmenistan president Saparmurat Niyazov, he renamed the month of April (as well as a species of plant and a type of bird) "Trff", after himself. Uncle and Earl Duke acted as his advisors, and after he was airlifted out of Berzerkistan he moved himself into Duke's home. Until he is able to return to power, he is sponging off Duke while working on receiving asylum in the U.S. (August 9, 2011) and trying to get his memoirs published (August 16, 2011). He later became an adviser to Donald Trump (March 19, 2017).[5]

(2,143 posts)Your reply to my simple thank you note suggests I need a reminder about crediting quotes. I certainly did not plagiarize. I didn't quote anyone or anything in this thread or elsewhere. Please consider apologizing for replying to my thank you note with an unwarranted upbraiding of me, suggesting I should "provide credit instead of just plagiarizing." Surely you intended the reminder for someone else, not me.

for the first time, I read an article about how certain American public relations firms were working for despots and deposed despots to clean up their reputations in the West. God forbid anyone in the US should recall them only as heartless and bloody-handed dictators. True story, people.
Enter Trff Bmzklfrpz, formerly of Berzerkistan, approaching Uncle Duke for assistance in turning around his bad rep. Hes been a semi-regular ever since.
I love Doonesbury.
