The vax lax rush to a framing that they are being treated unfairly by judgmental prigs and their toadies. For example, they complain that they're being "discriminated against" and treated as "second class citizens" when they're not allowed to dine in certain restaurants without vaccination proof. It's a convenient framing from a psychological perspective, playing the victim card.
That's why I wish we framed the fight against COVID more as a war against a common enemy. Those who don't "do their part" are draft dodgers, not rising to the defense of their country when it calls them.
If America were being invaded, say, by the Russians, would the people who are crying about having to get a couple of shots join the Russians or refuse to use America's most powerful weapons against them?
Don't answer that question. But you get the idea.

Under that scenario, unlikely as it may be, the lax vax crowd are extremely unpatriotic, aiding and abetting our adversaries.
