BREAKING: Supreme Court DENIES Donald Trump's plea to keep his papers out of the hands of House committee investigating Jan. 6th insurrection at the Capitol

@stevenmazie
The apparent vote is 8-1. Only Justice Thomas would have granted Trump's plea.

Ginni must have his balls in a glass jar for safe-keeping.
On edit: Ginni. not Vickie.

(32,867 posts)If she is indicted, this useles man must resign from the USSC. A total disgrace to the Office he holds. Never did anything of note on the Supreme Court....except uphold the GOP agenda.
Thanks GWHB...the gift that keeps on giving. The best minority mind he could offer up was....Clarence Thomas?

(131,585 posts)from any case involving TFG. Ginni seems to be too closely involved with the insurrectionists.

(13,211 posts)Honestly surprised only one federalist society bought justice opposed this.
And it sets the road for all other subpoenas from the 1-6 committee to be abided by.

(577 posts)Use affirmative action programs to get where he is at but now rules against those for other minorities. Complete hypocrite

(7,715 posts)Thomas is awful, but it has nothing to do with affirmative action.

(32,867 posts)Clarence went to Holy Cross in Worcester - He was a couple of years ahead of me. Never involved with the issues that motivated the community, not in any inspirational way. Mike Harrington and the Berrigan Brother's were very vocal on campus and this was part of my lasting impression of the best in my school experiences. End the War / Feed the Poor....righteous stuff. Apparently, he learned nothing at Holy Cross.

(577 posts)Interesting Clarence Thomas is the only dissenting vote if true. His wife is implicated in supporting the coup. Maybe her name is in some of them.

(46,289 posts)The four pages weren't even before the Court of Appeals and were never the subject of a timely objection by Trump.

(55,178 posts)Trump never specifically asked for those 4 pages to be withheld. Those were set to be released UNLESS he filed another request for those docs.

(12,046 posts)All 3 justices who Trump thinks he owns vote against him again. You know his only concept remotely akin to justice involves quid pro quo so he must feel so betrayed...

(115,843 posts)It should be interesting!
How many emails were being concealed?
How many phone calls were made to the White House while Trump was celebrating the insurrection?
How many Congressmen and Senators will be exposed by these documents?
Maybe a Friday night drop is on schedule?

(12,145 posts)and that makes me a very happy woman. Fantastic to see the Supremes (for the most part) doing what they're supposed to do, without any beholding to whomever nominated them.

(77,795 posts)It's been five years of dreary, dreadful news. Today feels different (other stuff, PAXTON, Henry CUELLAR hosting the FBI at home) - not used to processing these things!
