is like someone's saying that they won't leave a partner who beats them and report it to the police because they believe in "being kind to others."

(54,884 posts)'roll up democracy' time.
The nation is now sufficiently scientifically and methodically gaslit to start to take it all away at truly breath-taking levels of control.
Foolish to think that McConnell has not thought about how to deal with a Dem senate majority or about how to obtain permanent power.
Also foolish to think that Putin and China would not make plans to bring down the US by any means possible.
So yes either deep plant activated assets.
Or Dems who were were flipped with offers they could not refuse.
Yes the degree of gaslighting is astounding. Goebbels would be proud.

(58 posts)That is a serious slap in the face of real domestic violence survivors I mean the guy did vote against Harry Reid during the first nuclear option and McConnell when he wanted to do it he has been consistent voting wise its the media that makes it seem like he has changed his position he has not at least since 2013 and I know I know the debt ceiling but thats not legislation at least real legislation

(82,351 posts)All he has to do is say how he is going to vote and leave it at that.
Instead he is constantly damaging Biden and our party.
It is deliberate and purposeful.

(18,272 posts)He won't vote for a bill unless there's bipartisanship involved? He should vote on the merits of something exclusively. If it's good, vote for it. If it's bad, don't vote for it. Republicans are going to vote as a block against all Democratic proposals. For him to wait for a Republican to vote for something that benefits Americans is ridiculous. My guess is that he's using that as an excuse to side with the Republicans.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
