January 20, 2022
Georgia gubernatorial candidate David Perdue has joined Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in pushing for statewide units to enforce voting laws. What could go wrong?
Republicans in the South are turning to a familiar authority in their efforts to clamp down on imagined voter fraud: the police.
George gubernatorial candidate David Perdue on Thursday called for the creation of Election Law Enforcement Division that would be charged with enforcing election laws, investigating election crimes and fraud, and arresting those who commit these offenses, according to CNN. The plan would also require elections to be independently audited before they are certified. Governor Brian Kemp drew the wrath of former President Trump for certifying the states 2020 election results, as he was required to do by law.
Leave it to a 20-year career politician like Kemp to sit on his hands when we needed him most, Perdue said Thursday. He failed us, and Georgians lost confidence that their vote would count.

(2,250 posts)Wingnuts hanging out watching voters going in to polling places and giving meanacing looks. Don't rule out a show of firearms. Stepping in out of nowhere to "further review" a voter's credentials.
And they WON'T be everywhere. Just in urban centers, university and college cities and rural African-American communities. All Democratic strongholds. Supreme Court will go along with it, because, you know, "states rights."
And WHO exactly do they plan to arrest on the spot and for what crime???? Great optics for democarcy.
Anyone with as much as a unpaid parking ticket will be thrown out.

(8,361 posts)I was watching a Frontline episode the other night that dealt with conspiracies. Alex Jones was highlighted. I am not sure I understand how this man was not charged with direct criminal harassment of the families of Newtown/Sandy Hook.
There is a civil suit and its going well, but the pure hell, and I mean hell, he instigated on those families should have landed him in jail imho.
