He has well-earned his Nirvana.
I will selfishly miss his presence in the world.
His death is teaching me that I still have to let my attachments go.
Through your blessing, grace, and guidance, through the power of the light that streams from you:
May all my negative karma, destructive emotions, obscurations, and blockages be purified and removed,
May I know myself forgiven for all the harm I may have thought and done,
May I accomplish this profound practice of phowa, and die a good and peaceful death,
And through the triumph of my death, may I be able to benefit all other beings, living or dead.

Still, very sad.

Dont say that I will depart tomorrow
even today I am still arriving.
My joy is like Spring, so warm
it makes flowers bloom all over the Earth.

(18,714 posts)"We invite our global spiritual family to take a few moments to be still, to come back to our mindful breathing, as we together hold Thay in our hearts in peace and loving gratitude for all he has offered the world."- message from Plum Village
While I know that Thay would not want us to morn his passing, I selfishly grieve his passing from this world. His words and message have had a profound impact on my life, as they have so many. So tonight, breathing in I acknowledge my grief and breathing out my heart is grateful for the life and lessons of Thich Nhat Hanh.
