Good evening. I am Mad's daughter and it is with a heavy heart that I inform you that she has passed away. I know there are many of you who will grieve her passing. Others maybe not so much. Regardless, her time on this forum was very important to her and filled a lot of her life. Regardless of your opinion of Mad please know that her efforts and her heart were always for the good in this United States of America.

RIP, MadFloridian. I am unaware of anything objectionable that she wrote or shared and I appreciated her thoughts on education. As a retired teacher, she walked the walk and really cared about kids. She will be missed here.

I can't say I remember interacting with your mom much on this board, but I remember seeing her name in various threads for most of my time here. I'll miss seeing MadFloridian's name - because just the name made me smile and have hope for Floridians.
She was a pioneer DUer, joining in 2002.
She will be missed by many DUer's, as I know she will be by her family and friends.
I really enjoyed her participation on DU, and felt that DU lost a bit of, well, DU when she stopped posting here. She truly was a good person.
