I could make a poll, but there are so many qualified candidates it would be impossible to include them all!

Blunt, Rubio and Sasse didn't vote.
She served on the District Court from 2013 to 2021; she was confirmed for that position by voice vote.

(53,442 posts)and thank goodness for that. Honestly, judges is the one thing that if we had a normal opposition party I would think a super majority standard would be a good idea, but we don't and thankfully we got rid of it for judicial nominees.

Effete Snob
(8,387 posts)Joe Manchin has been a Senator since November 2010.
No "dem SCOTUS nominee"s have been voted on since then.
So, yes, Manchin voted for ZERO "dem SCOTUS nominees" because in his Senate term there have been ZERO votes on any justice nominated by a Democratic president.
ColinC
(11,098 posts)I fixed it. It think I said the same somewhere else. I'll try to fix it there too.
Effete Snob
(8,387 posts)Not only has Manchin never voted for a Democratic-nominated Supreme Court justice, but he did vote for:
Justice "I like Beer" and Gorsuch, nominated by Trump.
For reference, Trump was, and I'm working from memory here, not a Democrat.
ColinC
(11,098 posts)Manchin still thinks they are.
Keep in mind of course a couple of current sitting Democratic senators (Leahy and Wyden) also voted for Robert's confirmation who was appointed by a Republican. That doesn't mean they suddenly stopped voting for Democratic nominees.

(8,387 posts)Manchin has never voted for a Democratic-nominated SCOTUS candidate, because there has not been a vote on a Democratic-nominated SCOTUS candidate during his entire time in the senate.
Therefore, it is misleading and false to say that he "voted for" every Democratic-nominated SCOTUS candidate.
The post to which I replied has been edited to remove the false assertion to which I was responding.
