Just a hypothetical.

(18,613 posts)The DEMS don't need Sinema OR Manchin.
I predict at least 53 YES votes.

(29,929 posts)Voting for a primary challenger either way. It is not just BBB or voting rights. She has a long history of having one of the more conservative voting records for a Democrat in Congress ever since she won her first primary.
Under Trump she voted to confirm Kavanaugh which I still havent forgotten.

(3,352 posts)Sinema voted for her to a lower court position, as well as three Republicans.

(18,613 posts)Hypothetically, of course...
Kind of like... if you won the PowerBall... how much would you give to your in-laws?

(3,352 posts)If she had voted against her previously, I could see her having some leverage.
Now, I foreseen Graham is a no-vote as he completely doesn't mind being called a hypocrite or flip-flopper.

(18,613 posts)Because knowing that Judge Jackson is an easy-yes... you'll have several GOP'ers voting YES.

(10,943 posts)... she will vote "Yes" for the Justice. Still, if someone wants to run against her in the Democratic primary, they should run. Hopefully, voters will pick the best winning candidate!

(8,849 posts)and who exactly would make that "offer"?...the Arizona Democratic Party censured her, NARAL pulled their endorsement and Emily's List says no more money...if she runs again she will certainly be primaried and lose. if she "switches" to the dark side, Mitch will welcome her with open arms and then instruct her to shut up and sit down, effectively muzzling her...if she runs as an Independent she'll lose...her political career is over...but if she has any hope of resurrecting something resembling integrity, Sinema can claim to see the light, vote yes on the SCOTUS pick, agree to get rid of the filibuster, compromise in good faith on BBB, all this as a "mea culpa, please forgive me, give me a chance to make up for my transgressions" (considering her lack of cognitive awareness and her pathological self absorption that's not going to happen) ...or she obstructs down the line because she's got nothing to lose and she's found her way to a cushy seat on some Republican donor's board...
