Well, my step son has covid again, for the second time

Fully vaccinated after the first bout. Convalescing at home, alone. His pregnant wife (not infected) is staying at her mother's house for the duration.

Heading over to drop a pot of soup at his doorstep.

This Omicron variant really is contagious.

Had it October 2020 (before shots). Was pretty sick but made a full recovery. Vaxxed (but not boostered yet), she has it again. Says it’s like a bad cold. She’s an RN case manager and works from home, hasn’t missed any work.

Hopefully your son will do as well as I did.

To be on the safe side, I'm getting a PCR test tomorrow.

Covid more than once. Is there some kind of commonality?

I do hope your step son is better very soon. And what a wonderful person you are to drop off the soup.

He is in high school. He had Covid about a year ago when he was mainly asymptomatic. Since then he has had all the necessary vaccinations. He started feeling sick on Sunday night so has been in quarantine all week. He is doing well but is sicker this time.

So far, my older son and his wife and baby had Covid last August, my younger son and his wife just got over Covid (their two young kids tested negative but had been sick the week before my son and wife were tested), my sister had Covid in April 2020) and brother-in-law had it last month, and one of my nieces has had it twice. My husband and I keep wondering when we are going to get it, which seems almost inevitable now.

40% of the total cases since Jan 2020 are infected now. We were close to 1 million per day, it's still over 500,000 per day right now.

I was sick most of a week. Caught it the 22nd of December from my kid, I was only boosted the 21st. Wife never got it, she was boosted a few weeks earlier. Kid was sick most of 3 weeks. Only elidgable for booster recently w the age shift.

One tip Melatonin from now through nearly a month after symptoms end. Excess inflammation is how it really harms you. The melatonin reduces inflammation and increases t cells.

Best wishes.
