(15,325 posts)Or Neil Young if that's the case.
Have any teenager's music groups followed Young in this moral & political stand?
Any talk on soc media from them?

(2,711 posts)One market is as good as any other. Sure it's not likely that they'll get many sales given the demographics, but they'll get some, and some is better than none.
Manilow has since issued a statement that this report is wrong, he is not removing his music from Spotify.
And all the hep young cats breathe a sigh of relief. Their teenage sleepover parties can still go rockin' all night long.

(1,000 posts)The other side has no problem with Nugent, Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, and Kanye running their mouths at will. We didn't "cancel" the Dixie Chicks. Why do left leaning artists need to shut up and sing?
I am old school vinyl. I don't use Spotify. But my personal taste in music is about the last freedom I would give up, seriously. They are welcome to theirs. (The gun worship is kind of creepy-don't tell me it isn't implied threat, we all know it is)
My taste in comedy doesn't match theirs either. I am not "Chickens for Colonel Sanders" "Woman for Trump" or a Joe Rogan fan. I don't find misogyny cute, funny, or manly. I am not attacking men when I say that, I like strong smart men, like anyone they don't have to be dragged to build someone else up.
People need to learn to scroll and live and let live.

(49,506 posts)C'mon all you pop stars. A principal isn't a principal until it costs you something. Show us what you got.
It's disappointing that only the elders in the music industry are taking a stand.
Also, Spotify is one of the worst streamers when it comes to artist royalites. So it wouldn't be costing them much.

(10,943 posts)... this could be big. "Old" music is dominant, today. It's not just oldies having a place at the table. "Oldies" are dominating music and industry people are worried. I hope new music becomes as popular as ever, but it is considered a problem... recordings with Neil Young, Peter Frampton and Barry Manilow might make a wave... especially as more join.
