When Trump is finally gone some Republicans will try to be like Trump, it won't work.
Trump does not have one moral, none. I do think Trump understands, recognizes the word immoral. He has no shame, none. He has no empathy, none. He does not like or dislike people in a normal way. Do something he likes and he will love you. Do something he does not like five minutes later, he will hate you. Do something he likes 5 minutes later he will love you.
Trump doesn't even like pets. Even Hitler liked pets. Have you ever seen Trump hug a child? Grabbing his daughters ass does not count. I saw him hug our flag pretending he loves America, I almost threw up.
When Trump breaks laws, gets caught lying, he doesn't get nervous, he smiles, makes a joke. For him it's perfectly normal. Not too many people can do that.
Trump is truly a freak of nature. When Trump is finally gone, the Trump madness, the Trump voters will fade away without their mad king. Some politicians will try to follow in his foot steps and they will fail. There can be only one Trump freak.

Look what is happening in GA to election boards. Lack of anything resembling ethics or shame.

(16,124 posts)he stands apart because of his blatancy. He is not subtle about it, but others have been taking note, they recognize that a whole lot of mostly white people in this country are ready and eager for a dictator, as long as he tells them that they are special.

(768 posts)You are correct Trump is uniquely sociopathic and narcissistic and it's unlikely we will ever see anyone exactly like him.
But it could be far worse than Trump. At least with Trump we know exactly what he is going to do and exactly what he is going to say, after 4 years he is totally predictable.
We could have elected a rightwing sociopath with the shrewdness to hide his true agenda and continue to tear down our democracy from the inside. Someone who is smart enough to softpedal his way into the Presidency and then install himself as dictator.
I disagree that the movement that coalesced around Trump will simply "fade away". The neo-Fascists have been working for decades to reach this point and they are not folding their tent any time soon. And it's not just in the USA - ultranationalism and the trend toward autocracy is everywhere, Europe, Canada and elsewhere.
