Biden Boom hits new heights press buries the good news

Want more proof that the mainstream media remains committed to downplaying good news about the Biden economic boom?
When the Commerce Department on Thursday announced that the economy just grew at the fastest rate in nearly 40 years, posting robust growth numbers not seen since the Reagan era, none of the network newscasts treated the announcement as a big deal. In fact, two of the three newscasts, ABC World News Tonight and CBS Evening News didnt even cover the story on Thursday NBC Nightly News gave it one sentence.
The same media that remains in inflation hyperventilation mode, just cannot work up the energy to consistently inform news consumers about the red-hot economy under President Joe Biden. It wont billboard the fact that it grew so rapidly in the fourth quarter of last year that it pushed the annual gross domestic product rate the broadest measure of economic activity to an eye-popping 5.7 percent. (The GDP under Trump never got above 3 percent.) Consumer spending also soared 7.9% last year, the quickest clip in since 1946.
So attached to the idea of using economic news to bash Biden, the press doesnt know what to do when the data demolish the medias preferred storyline. That was obvious by the fact that the coverage of the blockbuster GDP news seemed to go out of its way not to mention him.

(11,878 posts)Seems to be that the only good thing about Biden is that hes not TFG.
Eff them all.
Wall to wall discussion of TFG. Proving there is no such thing as bad publicity.

(70,581 posts)How many times did the NY Times run front page stories about Hillary and her emails as compared
to stories about TFG and his mob and Russian ties and the links between Trump, Russia, and the
mob? And those links were real but the HRC & her emails stories were Russian produced disinformation.

The same forces are at work today on trying to drag down President Biden despite the really
good job he is doing.

(10,497 posts)We need a beefed up Fairness Doctrine requiring truth in the news. No more news is entertainment excuse that Fox uses when they get caught lying.
Most people remember the McDonalds coffee case involving Stella Liebeck. All of the media made it seem like their big advertiser, McDonalds, was the victim of a frivolous lawsuit despite a trial that was public record that showed McDonalds raised the temp of their coffee so high they were settling burn cases confidentially and Mrs. Liebeck almost died. The media tried to protect their big advertiser. Saw this with the BP oil spill as well.

(7,286 posts)one would think the media wants that psychotic piece of scum back in office, or they'll happily settle for a wannabe pscyho nut job.
all of this my opinion of course. it's how it has appeared to me since he took office, or damn near.

(35,364 posts)the parking lots at the more expensive restaurants are full. I am single and usually eat out one meal every day but on Saturdays and Sundays I end up going to a fast-food restaurant many times because I don't like waiting in line in a sit-down restaurant. How can everyone be broke if they can afford to spend $20 + to eat one meal? Why is it there is a line stretching around Starbucks and sometimes onto the street to spend $6+ on a f----g coffee? If gas is so f----g high why is it gas guzzling trucks and SUVs are the biggest selling vehicles.

I've been isolating eversince my neighbor had the ambulance take him to the hospital due to COVID. He's been there for 2 weeks now, he hasn't died...hoping he pulls through. Yeah he's an anti-vaxxer. His son told me.
I see him and hear his engines across the fields after he comes home ... he's a trucker.

(45,528 posts)so people with lots of money are spending it. That jacks up prices for things that are in limited supply, like vehicles, travel, nice restaurants, stuff that uses microchips, etc.

(90,364 posts)... is rising vs the whole core.
Fuel and car prices are nearly 1/3 or half of the damn inflation rate and those are both being restricted because of a number of reasons.
You're right in your observation that if inflation was stifling the economy there wouldn't be people out eating in droves during a pandemic

(21,402 posts)Trump put pressure on the Fed to keep interest rates at zero to keep the economy above water. The only reason the Fed is now raising interest rates is because we have a strong economy. They are planning a series of raises.
Just that one question someone should ask a cable news anchor, why is the Fed raising interest rates?
It is hard for Democrats to control the narrative, the MSM is right wing, including MSNBC. We do have Nicolle, Chris, and Rachel who try to keep the real news up front, but other than those 3 it's what the American oligarchs want reported.
