monitor symptoms and blood oxygen, you both should isolate for 5 to 7 days, and test every so often (at least at the end of 7 days).

If cough develops or blood oxygen dips below 90, call your doctor and prepare for a trip to the hospital.

But after 5 days (I would do 7), you both should be OK.

Check for long Covid issues.

note: not a doctor... you should always follow the advice of your doctor... this is just to re-assure you that things are likely to be good (if you are fully vaccinated and boosted)

but there are many reports of testing positive even though you are no longer infectious. all depends on the viral load.

PCR ver Antigen rapid. The virus stays in your system as it winds down, a PCR tear can catch that where an antigen will not.

Thank you! He's scheduled for a PCR test at CVS on Thursday. The at-home antigen test read positive yesterday.

I really appreciate you sharing this

I was told by NHS doctors in England not to do a PCR test, as I may continue to test positive for up to 90 days.
Hopefully your husband has very mild symptoms.

who stays with us during the pandemic.

I was also told I could test positive for up to 3 months. I'm negative now on an antigen at home test, but they still wanted me to have a PCR test and I'm waiting for results. My symptoms are finally gone so I think it will be negative as well.

She said her achy legs were the worst symptom so far. Otherwise her symptoms have been mild. We are monitoring with the pulse ox.
Good luck and good health to you.

Was she released from the hospital or was she released from self-isolation after 5 days?

If she had her two vaccinations and her booster shot,
and if she had flu like symptoms
then there probably is nothing more to worry about.

Five of my family members went through it and are fine now.

My 24 yo son had it week before last, 102 degree fever for a couple of days and fatigue, never had a cough, went back to work after symptoms were over. 7 year old niece had it the same week, sniffly nose for a few days, my brother stayed home with her, he never tested positive with two tests or felt anything.

Went through work again, vaccinated people were fine after a few days off. If you’re fully vaccinated it’s not much different than a cold or the flu now, if you even get symptoms.

Especially among those with high risk factors (over age 70, type 2 diabetes, obesity, etc).

Can’t set policy off the worst case scenarios though, most people are going to be fully recovered a few days after symptoms subside, if they even have any noticeable symptoms at all. The OP seemed worked up that 5 days wasn’t enough to be cleared or “released”, for most people that’s fine.
