A new vaccine conspiracy. Apparently, if you drink tea made from white pine needles it will prevent unvaccinated pure blood people from getting contaminated if they get near people who are shedding their covid vaccine.

BTW, it's been a looonnnggg time since I've studied biology - just what is "virus shedding" supposed to mean here?

(53,003 posts)The claim is that if you receive a vaccine, the COVID-19 virus particles in it will ooze through the pores in your skin and infect "purebloods."
This might be possible if any of these vaccines contained COVID-19 virus particles. However, Pfizer and Moderna don't use virus at all, and J&J uses a different virus to carry the spike protein into your immune system.
Also, how "pure" their blood is remains an open question, what with all the ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, zinc, urine, kerosene, strontium-90, lead, selenium tetraazide, arsenic, potassium cyanide, hydrazine, chlorine trifluoride, ammonium perchlorate and whatever else these assholes are relying on so they don't have to get vaccinated.

(6,880 posts)though mostly i tried it as a lark. I'm told it's a nice winter "tonic", though i tried it in the summer. Part of a wild edibles course i took. I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the bugs though... who knows, maybe munching on roasted grasshoppers cures covid?

These "alternative uses" are pure bullshit, though.
Truth is, I had no idea until I searched. Even found a recipe for Christmas tree tea.

It was truly one of the most awful things I ever put in my mouth.
I still remember that awful taste to today.
My sisters also said I ate grasshoppers. They saw the remains in my diapers.
Have no memory of what they tasted like.

Yes sir! You qualify as the next buyer of a four dollar cup of coffee because you have pure blood. And as an added bonus, your white pine needle tea will get into your pure blood, seek out those nasty COVIDS, and knock them senseless.

(76,721 posts)Turpentine is poisonous if swallowed. ... Some people develop an allergy to turpentine when exposed to it for a long time. Turpentine exposure causes eye irritation, headache, dizziness and vomiting. Breathing or swallowing also causes kidney and bladder irritation.
But if you have any paint brushes with oil based paint on them in your stomach this might help.

(2,191 posts)If you read the fine print, it says, "De-Natured Spirits of Turpentine" The "De-Natured" part tells you that it's not natural, and therefore toxic. In aromatherapy, the natural spirits of Turpentine is called Terebinth, and it is used therapeutically in small doses, like other essential oils.

(2,191 posts)When I lived in New Mexico, I used to collect the balsam (needle-less small branches) of the Pinyon Pine (Pinus edulis) and either chew them or brew them up in teas - it was great for stimulating digestion and healing the gut. I would also collect the resin of the Pinyon Pine and dissolve it into heated Grapeseed or Olive Oil to make a great massage oil. At the Santa Fe Farmer's Market every Saturday, herbalists would sell their Trementina Salve, which was made from Pinyon Pine resin - great stuff, and effective against a whole range of skin conditions. Not only is the Pinyon Pine the State Tree of New Mexico - it's also New Mexico's healing tree! Hhhmmm... although I no longer live in New Mexico, I still have a cannister of Pinyon Pine balsam - I think I'll go and munch on some right now...
