Former President Donald Trump has urged congressional Jan. 6 investigators to open up a probe against his former vice president, Mike Pence, over his refusal to help Trump overturn the 2020 election result.
Pence and Trump havent been on speaking terms since last year, when the then-VP went against Trumps orders and fulfilled his duty to certify Joe Bidens election victory in Congress. But their relationship plumbed new depths Tuesday, when Trump released a statement saying that Pence should be under investigation for not reversing the 2020 election result.
In a furious statement posted by Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington on Tuesday, the former president once against attacked the House committee investigating the Capitol riot, and said the panel should be focusing on Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, rather than himself.
The ex-president wrote: The Unselect Committee should be investigating why Nancy Pelosi did such a poor job of overseeing security and why Mike Pence did not send back the votes for recertification or approval, in that it has now been shown that he clearly had the right to do so!

(11,728 posts)I am not above using choice words, but when people, especially supposed leaders, use such immature rhetoric it's like a first grader saying, "Jimmy has the cooties". Not that I had any respect for Trump in the first place, but I guess there isn't negative respect. Contempt I suppose, but the needle has already spun off on that measurement too.

(15,188 posts)Not just former advisors of his, but Pence himself.
He might have complicated issues between sycophancy and ambition, but by now Pence should start being scared about what will happen to himself if Trumpistas get back into power.

(50,552 posts)Do they make straitjackets in Trump's size? Too much more of this shit and the men in the white jackets will be visiting Mar-a-Lago with a straitjacket, a Baker Act warrant, a fire extinguisher full of nitrous oxide and a forklift. Maybe also a big bucket of KFC and a bag of Big Macs to lure him outside with.
And speaking of security...for fuck's sake, Don, it would have taken a battalion of field artillery to stop what you caused on January 6th. I do admit that calling in a tactical CS (tear gas) fire mission on the insurrectionists MIGHT have been entertaining, but it would have stunk up the place something fierce.
