I'd like to point to Jacob to illustrate how people who equate Bush and Trump are wrong.

First, Trump is much more extreme than Bush.

And Bush's ex-employee was smart enough to document how and when the stupid Trump cultists tried to get he and Pence involved in an illegal act.

If it had gone bad in a different way, you know all the Trumpists in the administration would have been pointing at Pence and his staff claiming that it was all their idea.

But Jacob was smart enough to document what happened as it happened. And the law generally sides with the party which has the more credible documentation....

He will take them down.
This was amazing. Yep

Bush was just as illegal with that invasion and occupation of Iraq - he is guilty of mass murder,

IMO both Bush and Trump fit the description of "useful idiots". They just had different puppet masters.

is the resurrection, and rightfully so to the best of my knowledge, of Smedley Butler as a failed coup attempt.

What about 2000? If the election protocol had been completed, Gore would have won. The GOP interrupted the process and the USSC awarded the election to GWB, even noting their malfeasance in saying their ruling specifically did not establish precedent. Gore did not lose because of Nader but because the legal vote counting process was stopped. We (the USA) got 9-11, the Afghanistan War, and GWB et al lied to the World for a war of aggression in Iraq. Then torture. And a financial collapse left to be cleaned up by POTUS Obama. 2000 looks to be a successful coup attempt.

I think all those assholes should still be prosecuted for war crimes.

wasn't it governor Jeb Bush who stopped the vote count because it was obvious that Gore was going to win? W's brother stopped the vote count. That's what Trump wanted in several states, he was ahead until the states counted the absentee ballots which went big for Biden. This is why the GQP has been pushing the Big Lie, they have used a bogus argument to restrict mail in voting. Republicans in Pa. 3 years ago passed a law to allow no excuse mail in voting, when they found out that more Democrats used mail in voting, last month they passed another law saying that no excuse mail in voting is illegal and a GQP court agreed with them. Luckily we have a Democratic AG who immediately appealed to the state SC who should reinstate no excuse voting.

i'm surprised how little mention there has been of either of them.
tdfg pardoned them so they could help pull off a coup.

On November 22, 2000, a group of well-dressed Republican protesters descended on a government office building in Miami. They were there to protest the Miami-Dade County Canvassing Board's recount in the disputed presidential race between Democrat Al Gore and Republican George W. Bush. They wanted to stop what they regarded as a steal, and they were prepared to resort to violence to do it.

The Brooks Brothers riot revived a new blueprint for electoral disputes, one that openly deployed violence and intimidation to frighten officials into discarding legitimate votes. Like the January 6, 2021 pro-Trump siege on the US Capitol, it was sought to replace the rule of law with mob rule.

And like that brazen assault on democracy, it was orchestrated at the top levels of the GOP. The weapon-toting, MAGA hat-clad insurrectionists of 2021 directly descend from the buttoned-down, stop-the-steal rioters of 2000.

mentions stone, but not manafort.
