Meadows is a main participant in the attempted coup. He knows everything. He did cooperate with the committee by turning over thousands of documents and all of the sudden he stopped cooperating.
Garland may be waiting to charge, indict meadows for much bigger crimes. Charging Meadows now for refusing to cooperate with the committee is small potatoes.
We recently learned Trump donated a million dollars to a super pack Meadows belongs too, soon after Jan. 6th, Oops!
We also know the committee has the Whitehouse records, which includes hand written notes from Meadows, notes from oval office meetings which meadows was more then likely part of. The justice dept. is aware of this information.

(4,792 posts)There is a benefit however to this measured pace. If he quickly indicted, the GOP would declare themselves off the hook. If he made a mistake, it could backfire legally and politically. Watching Trump twist in the wind as he learns the identities of the people testifying has its own effect. He is melting down and confessing, because he knows they know what he did. As usual, he is Barring it up. Trying to spin. Time will tell, but perhaps the House of Cards is about to fall.

(2,968 posts)You get it. Everything about this is unprecedented, Garland has to walk the finest of lines here. It's not your typical mob takedown, and even those take time, years in fact. We're talking about consideration of indicting a former US President for high crimes, probably seditious conspiracy. I understand the impatience, but if one thinks about it, the scope, the context, it's friggin' complicated.

(11,269 posts)Meadows isn't, bring initial charges to let him know he will face prosecution and add charges as they come evident. Time for DOJ to get serious or time for us to some to terms nothing will happen.
