"That's a goddam lie!" ---- something we need to say more often.

It does not need to be loud or said with clenched fists. In fact, it will likely be more effective if we say it with a small pitying smile.

When someone says something totally outrageous that has been debunked many times---i.e., "Trump won by a landslide" or "vaccinations have killed thousands" or "Those who invaded the Capitol last year were patriotic tourists", they are not "mistaken", they are evil; they are not presenting "the other side", they are lying. Don't let them hide behind the pretense that they actually believe what they just said. Damn few are truly THAT stupid.

Liars deserve to be called liars.

I'll smile and ask "Want to bet a $100 on that fact?" Sometimes I even get to say "Hey is that a smart phone
you're holding? Not afraid to use it are you?"

Instead they carefully scribe each and every word without mention of their veracity, or chase false leads knowing from the beginning that it's a bunch of bullshit.

lies.

No soft words to make them feel better about their lies. We just need to say "You are lying" openly and plainly.

But I continue to be amazed that the rabble is that gullible.

We can call them whatever we want--they're never going to hear it on Fox.

"If someone else lies, and you repeat that lie, does that make you a liar too?"

That usually shuts them up.

I think in reference to Dubya, that oh-so-delicately asked: “Prevaricating President?”

I saw that and said a big loud “What The Fuck????”

What was their point? How did they think that would land with readers (not all of whom care that much about alliteration and consonance tricks)? Did they think anybody would get the point with the 50-dollar word usage? Did anybody even know what the word “prevaricating” was?

And why didn’t whoever wrote that just put it out there as a LYING President? Other than trying to impress readers with a fancy vocabulary choice? Or, worse, attempting rather embarrassingly to call the asshole a liar without actually calling him a liar? Didn’t want to hurt his little fee-fees? Didn’t want to risk the vengeful wrath of kkkarl rove & company?

Still one of the biggest stand-out Suck-Ass quivering sphincter moments in print “journalism.” Really took a feather duster to that gunfight. And a tiny feather duster at that.

... call the liars stand on it especially if you have countering information so that the liars credibility is lowered and people will remember your reaction to the lie.

A couple weeks ago I was talking to someone about the Omicron resurgence and he said it wouldn't end until we stopped the people coming across the southern border. I said "That's nonsense- that is not where it's coming from." No conversations since.
