White House press secretary Jen Psaki accused Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and other conservatives of parroting Russian talking points amid the looming threat of conflict between Russia and Ukraine, The Hill reports.
Said Psaki: If you are digesting Russian misinformation and parroting Russian talking points you are not aligned with longstanding bipartisan American values, which is to stand up for the sovereignty of countries like Ukraine, but others.

"SNIP......
Politico: The disconnect between the GOP foreign policy establishment and the pro-Donald Trump base of the party on the value of intervening in foreign quagmires isnt new.
But the crisis in Ukraine is exposing the widening gulf between the two camps when it comes to committing U.S. resources in support of fledgling democracies under siege by authoritarian regimes.

(43,146 posts)For the President's press secretary to acknowledge it. Says to me the political schism is widely known and is fair game going forward, almost like it's the topic of our times. ID and separate those traitors!

(6,820 posts)Always saw Hawley as more a wood stork or, perhaps, a plover, with those mincing little steps. But, I suppose if one were to split his tongue he may speak more parrotesian. That's what I've heard is done with crows.

(29 posts)Remember ..Biden was Senate Foreign Relations chairs and sided with Bush on the Gulf War against the majority of the House Dems and Wellstone etal.. I am old enough to remember the lead up to a couple other Foreign Policy Misadventures.. I have been going over to Antiwar.com, Consortium News, and Counterpunch to check out non-Trumpian critiques of Biden's Ukraine misrepresentations. Obama/Biden letting Nuland and the neocons go ahead with first sponsoring a coup in the Ukraine in 2014, and than promoting NATO Membership of this rump CIA client state is the most reckless act by the MIC in my lifetime.
Eisenhower once opined that he would consider NATO a failure if it were still around ten years after it was formed He must be rolling over in his grave
