Are Republicans traitors?

I honestly believe that if it was discovered tomorrow that Trump was communicating with Vladimir Putin about the Big Lie and how to steal the election and the FBI had it on tape, they would still stick with that lyin' POS.

That would be all the proof most Americans would need to put him in prison, but not the Republicans in the House or his base. He would tell them it is "fake news" and they would believe him.

They are part of a cult and they will never change their minds, regardless of how much evidence is produced. Just like the Covid, that is a reality which we will have to live with.

Their allegiance to Trump goes far beyond attempting to keep the peace with his base. Whenever we say "Trump", Putin's name could likely be substituted. Perhaps this is hyperbolic, but I have a sneaking sense that many Congressmen fear for their safety and perhaps the safety of their loved ones. There has to be something more dangerous than Donald Trump's wrath that caused them to make 180 degree turns on policy.
