Kyrsten Sinema confronted Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on the Senate floor last night about the

chamber’s slow voting process, per ⁦@StevenTDennis.⁩

“Could we have some discipline in the votes, ever? You’re in charge!”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
@AOC

Actually he should continue to make their lives as difficult as possible and treat them the way they treat, say, public housing residents. Or parents who rely on CTC. When they improve, maybe process can improve too.

Why should we make the lives of obstructionists easier?

Cancel vacation. Vote on weekends. Vote for hours. Vote last minute. Call votes when Senators are courting billionaires at fundraisers. They may get apoplectic, but it’s nothing compared to the people they’re forcing to sleep without heat in winter, or losing the right to vote.

Cinema acts like Marie Antoinette! God forbid her highness, or should I say her lowness, be even slightly inconvenienced. Let the disenfranchised voters, the struggling families dependent on the child tax credit that expired thanks to her and Manson’s slavish devotion to their billionaire puppeteers, and everyone else not as “important” eat cake Madame Whinery screeches! Don’t ya plebeians know Lady Kirsten has another internship stomping grapes for her rich benefactor to attend to 🤬
Thank you very very much AOC for reminding everyone of the real suffering of real people that her narcissistic antics has caused. 👏 👏

and Sinema has a lot of nerve but we all know that.

One of these two hardly ever talks and the other can't seem to stop.

Love the part about voting while others are stroking lobbyist for more dolla’s.

wish she were a bit more patient. We are NOT going to fix decades of problems overnight. We had opportunity when Obama had 60 D senators but wanted to bring the sides together. Which is why I am a bit irked at Biden - we have too many small r republicans and the neutered big r are so owned by their money handlers, they would die in a fire since they could not decide to get out of the building without making a call.

If only the rest of the Democrats has her brains and spine to be tough enough to stand up to bullying Republicans and still have the heart to defend the hurting and defenseless.

Voters in AZ are going to replace her with a Democrat who is loyal to the Democratic party and the country. This is already set in stone.

She has less than zero chance of winning the 2024 AZ Democratic primary. There will be dancing in the streets of AZ the day she loses the primary. Hopefully, her replacement in the Senate will be Rep. Ruben Gallego, a Senator that we, Majority leader Schumer, and President Biden will always be able to depend on to do the right thing in every situation.

challenger to Schumer

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/416722-sinema-i-would-have-considered-challenger-to-schumer

Incoming Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) on Wednesday said that she would have considered a challenger to Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) as Senate minority leader if one had emerged.

“Arizonans know I will work with anyone — in either party — to get things done for our state,” Sinema said in a statement. “It’s time for a new approach on both sides of the aisle and I look forward to working with my colleagues to cut through the dysfunction and deliver results for Arizona. Had there been a challenger for Minority Leader, I would have considered new leadership and a fresh perspective. I will continue to put Arizona over party.”

Sinema, who is replacing retiring Sen. Jeff Flake (R), ran as a centrist. During the campaign, she would not call herself a “proud” Democrat and said she would not support Schumer as minority leader. She became the first Democrat elected senator in the state in 30 years.

Schumer on Wednesday in a closed-door meeting was reelected by acclamation to his role as minority leader. “We have a unique opportunity in the new Congress to reach more bipartisan agreements to get things done for families across the country, and we will be ready to work with the president and our Republican colleagues on issues where we agree,” Schumer said in a statement. “However, we will not shy away from standing up to President Trump and Congressional Republicans with everything we’ve got when the values we as Americans hold dear are threatened,” he added.
