I love the way President Biden just keeps on governing in the face of all the revelations about

the dangerous criminality of Trump and his minions.

The revelation about the attempt or proposal for Trump to us NSA data in his quest to overturn our election gives any half-way decent Republican an off-ramp to stop unifying with their colleagues who are MAGA-Trump fanatics and join with Democrats who want to save our democracy and govern for the people. This is their chance and if they don't take it they should never be voted into office again, and in fact, they should resign now and ask for their brown shirts. Here is your chance Graham, Collins, Romney, Murkowski, and a few others. Actually I wish, Kinzinger and Cheney would just switch to Dem or Independent. What do they have to lose at this point?

Even thinking about using NSA for the personal gain of Trump ought to be disqualifying for any government or public trust employment.

They are going to think that the NSA has some sort of "smoking gun", and it's not like they NSA can make all of their data public.

So there is really no way to refute the conspiracy kooks. In fact, I expect this to be their new conspiracy theory.

The core of Trump's support has always been the religious fundies who see Trump as a messianic figure who will usher in a new theocracy, conspiracy theorists who see Trump dismantling the military-industrial complex, the neo-monarchists who think that the country would be better off with a king, the white supremacists who just want to see all of them for'ners out of the country, the neo-Confederates and neo-Nazis who want to secede or burn the whole country to the ground respectively, the survivalists just waiting for World War III, and the hard money goldbugs (or their Bitcoin yahoo equivalents) who want chaos so their faux currency of choice goes to the moon.

They don't care. They each have goals which are, in most cases, highly antithetical to democratic forms of government. They know Trump is a criminal. It doesn't matter to them, and in many cases it simply elevates the stature of the man in their eyes.

The old Republican party no longer exists as a distinct organization - it is essentially the Independence Party. Prediction: Murkowski, Kinzinger, Collins, Romney, and Cheney will be primaried and will be defeated, but will run as independents in the primary and many may win. I think Sinema may face a recall vote this year. This means that there are going to be a lot of independents getting elected in '22, and control of both chambers may very well revolve around them.

I am 74 years old and he is the best president I have seen. Imagine all of the shit he has had to put up with. He would really be riding high if we had 50 Democratic Senators who vote Democratic.

As Rostoff said tonight on The Reidout, Biden has a half century of foreign relations expertise, and five times (Rostoff's words) more than did H.W. Bush and Obama.
