Covid BA.2 in Connecticut







I don't know if anyone has an interest in the sub-variant BA.2 (stealth). which has appeared in europe and elsewhere and some feared it would produce a new Covid wave. It's being followed by Dr. Grubaugh at Yale, who does the Covid sequencing for the Yale-New Haven Hospital group.
The bottom line is that although it appeared in CT in early January it hasn't made any headway. BA.1 and a BA1.1 is turning up in 98 percent of the samples. Connecticut Covid cases are still dropping to low levels.
So that's good so far.
