Documents Reveal That Clarence Thomas Has Been in Contact With Ron DeSantis "On Various Things"

This needs to be given more attention

Clarence Thomas’ entry into the United States began with controversy. The judge was confirmed in 1991 despite claims of constant sexual harassment by subordinate Anita Hill. For the next 30 years, Thomas has worked on the bench, supporting Conservative causes.

Controversy is again surrounding Thomas, though, much of it due to the actions of his wife Ginni. In a letter recently obtained by Politico and American Oversight, Ginni Thomas noted that her husband has been in contact with Florida Governnor Ron DeSantis over a number of issues.

In an email to DeSantis’ team, Ginni Thomas wrote, “Gov. DeSantis will be acquainted with me, as I video-interviewed him for a Leader Series with the Daily Caller years ago when he served in Congress, saw him at a state dinner at the Trump White House and my husband has been in contact too on various issues as of late.”

Collusion between D'Sants and Clarence Thomas along with his troublemaking wife Ginny. Really, Thomas needs to be booted from the court.

Isn’t it lifetime appointment? Is there a federal law against collusion of SC justice and a governor?

A seat on the Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment, but a Justice, like other federal judges,, can be impeached (by the House of Representatives) and, IF convicted (by the Senate), removed.

Fifteen federal judges, including one Supreme Court Justice (Samuel Chase in 1804) have been impeached. Of those fifteen: eight were convicted by the Senate, four were acquitted by the Senate, and three resigned before an outcome at trial. Justice Chase was among those acquitted.

one of the applied threats would be impeachment, which is in fact, in the Constitution as a remedy

Are they under the impression that SCOTUS justices aren’t allowed to talk to politicians? Or that the liberal justices don’t?

Kavanaugh, Barret......they're all unabashedly republican owned. They don't even try to fake impartiality anymore.

And republicans claim Democrats are politicizing everything.

someone else had to tell him how to vote on cases. He used to do whatever Scalia told him to do. He was completely lost when Scalia died. DeSantis must have filled Scalia's clown shoes.

1. Retire
2. Die
3. Resign, or,
4. Impeach, convict and remove.

Other than dying, what are the chances that any of the other 3 will come to pass any time soon?

So, yeah, in essence, he is immune to being removed from the bench.

Justice Thomas should recuse from this case.

Clarence Thomas, the hardline conservative supreme court justice, is facing calls for his recusal in the case over race-based affirmative action in college admissions that the court agreed to hear this week......

SFFA’s lawsuit seeking to strike down affirmative action has received the enthusiastic backing of the conservative National Association of Scholars. It filed an amicus brief in support of the suit, accusing Harvard admissions officials of being prejudiced against Asian students and stereotyping them as “uninteresting, uncreative and one-dimensional”.

Ginni Thomas sits on the advisory board of the National Association of Scholars. Observers are concerned that her position with a group that has intervened in the affirmative action case could present appearances of conflict of interest.....

“Ginni Thomas is an advisory board member of an organization that has taken a very specific position on a case in front of her husband. That will make it hard for the public to be confident that he’s going to be totally unbiased.”

that impeachment for Supremes along with the President is written into the Constitution. Of course we would need more Dem senators. IAlso, I have read that Roberts loathes Ginni.

Emails we obtained, reported on by @politico, suggest that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is in regular contact with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

In a June 2021, Ginni Thomas said DeSantis should be familiar with her because “my husband has been in contact with him[.]”
