Hundreds of Oakdale Joint Unified students refused to wear masks on Wednesday and Thursday as parents protested California’s mask mandate outside campuses, Superintendent Dave Kline said.

Thankfully, not in Oakdale, a mini-Alabama in our midst. It’s a town most people drive through on their way to Yosemite, or other Sierra towns. You certainly wouldn’t want to stop there.

I encountered quite a few right-wingers when I lived there. I was there when they recalled Governor Gray Davis and then elected the Terminator. Things have been so much better in recent years now that Democrats have taken over.
