Legitimate Political Discourse OBVS

OBVS.

The RNC truly have jump the fascistic shark at this point - "persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse..". Oh My. Poor violent insurrectionist snow flakes. Looks like the far right cray cray that is now the neo-GOP have decided that their policy positions going forward should be based on Americans not caring about law, justice, democracy, but OBVS are supportive of the attempted violent over throw of a free and fair election. Not a platform that smacks of success to me?

his cabinet members were not having a wine and cheese party during Covid Lockdown,
they were merely engaging in 'legitimate political discourse'. As I remember, that didn't
work on my Mom when I was 4 years old, either!

I think Jackson was shot, before he became President, by a man who later became a Senator.

We all know how the political discourse Burr and Hamilton engaged in turned out.

An attorney in Nashville Tennessee. He and Jackson met on the field of honor and Dickinson fired first. He hit Jackson in the chest, so close to his heart that the bullet could not be removed. Jackson, having been told of Dickinson's prowess with a pistol, allowed Dickinson to fire first, hoping that the initial turn would spoil his aim. After Jackson was hit, he took careful aim (as the rules stated that the first shot had to stand to allow the return shot) and killed Dickinson with his shot. Jackson was ostracized for this duel by the people of Tennessee for many years over this, with some calling Jackson a 'murderer'. Also, the duel was over Dickinson publishing an attack on Jackson and his wife, not a political disagreement, although 'town politics' were a factor in the developing animosity between the two men.

From everything I have read, he would accept that he was fair game (to a point), but his wife was totally off limits

The GOP puts out PR that seeks to legitimize violent crime. There is just no doubt about it.

They can't have it both ways.

The hypocrisy isn't surprising.
