(6,204 posts)in my classroom when I taught 5th grade. When I went back to third I gave The Giver to my teammates who were still teaching 5th grade. I kept a couple of copies for me as I was the purchaser of the books.

Catcher in the Rye is an anthem for younger people.
Edit: I guess they will have to ban some movies next.

(301 posts)I've read or watched some of them on TV, some I haven't. One Book I've read was (the book thief) and it was a movie and a book. It's highly recommended before they turn on that one. But it's a good thing we can still read books online and order them as well. This book burning can't stand. Love my books

(1,819 posts)when I was a less than a good student, due to less interest caused by moving every year and always having to play catch up.
Reading these books made me learn to love to read and understand the world around me.
