(36,023 posts)that corporate media amplify that 23% at the expense of what most Americans think.
Remember what James Weldon Johnson said about how America should deal with race in The Autobiography of an Ex-Colored Man: all races should be judged by their best, not their worst. And that we are not what we are called; we are only what we answer to.
77% will never answer to the 23%. We 77% and they have nothing in common. We 77% will boldly advance civilization without them.

(36,023 posts)they have to deal with US, not the other way around, however lazy and easy it is for them to tear down democratic structure. We should never confuse their small and creepy teardown and cockblocking for power. Even their money isn't power; rule of law is winning over 64 court rulings in our favor and five states losing cheating-by-gerrymandering in four states -- and Marc Elias is just getting started.

(8,361 posts)Imo, the issues will and can be resolved if we can achieve a supermajority. GOP is so off the rails, we must keep them in the basement so to speak until decent people begin to run in that party.
Thank you for the great back & forth! I enjoyed it.
I enjoyed it, too.

(48,994 posts)They can't be completely eliminated or cut out or forgotten or excommunicated.
They have to be dealt with in various ways.
They are part of our reality, even if they pretend that we aren't part of theirs.
