So there is this...
https://www.foxnews.com/us/ohio-state-university-sex-week-event-encourages-students-to-thank-abortion-providers
Student Advocates for Sexual Health Awareness is hosting the "Sex Week," but told Fox News Digital that several Ohio State University departments such as the Ohio State University Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies and the College of Social Work are providing financial support for the week-long event.
One event hosted during "Sex Week" is "Valentine's for Abortion Providers" where students can "help thank abortion providers" for the work that they do.
Proud to say that mini-genxlib (or genzlib perhaps) is one of the organizers. Apples and trees and all. We made sure she got a decent Sexual Health Education and she has made it her own mission at college.
I just hope it doesn't stir up some crazies to harass them or worse.

(46,327 posts)Faux "news" is right-wing propaganda.
Little else.
Because by daughter is involved in the campus organization doing it.
Of course, they put their "end-of-culture-as-we-know-it" spin on it but the events are real.

(5,524 posts)At sex themed campus events with the usual "liberal indoctrination ruining our kids" stuff.
The event they particularly highlight is pro-choice related but it is part of an entire week of events.

(10,885 posts)a conclusion or "side" on their part (for a change!). I just don't see how this particular article provokes "outrage".
Where are you seeing the "end-of-culture-as-we-know-it" and "liberal indoctrination ruining our kids stuff"? I see no such language.
Just me, I guess...
Kudos to your daughter for her advocacy.

(5,524 posts)FOX knows how to tweak their fans without trying to hard. It is as much about choosing content as it is about how they cover it.
There is no reason for this to be nationally newsworthy otherwise. It is a student organization running some programming for their fellow students. They only put it out there so that their readers will react to it.

(10,885 posts)by Faux fans, as one might expect on a Faux news article. Faux will be Faux...don't we know what to expect from them? There is nothing unusual in this article, and I still don't see the "end of culture" and "indoctrination" that you say is in the article itself. Can you show specific language that claims this? (As far as we know anyway) Faux didn't write the Comments - those are attributable to the readers, not the writers. Of course conservatives reading conservative content will respond as they did.
Perhaps the outrage should be that this story wasn't covered in a positive note by other media. Maybe "our side" should have gotten out the word about what how compassionate and involved the students at Ohio State are in answering the need and recognizing achievement.
